In its 9th year, the Southern Village 5K is a fantastic opportunity to gather a team at work, get together with friends or bring the whole family to run or walk. The 5K course (3.1 miles) is USAT&F certified. All performances count toward state records and national rankings. Official times are taken using the MyLaps BibTag System. No official times are recorded on the family fun run, but participants are able to see their finishing times on a large digital clock at the finish line.
As the Chapel Hill Service League’s primary fundraiser, proceeds from the Southern Village 5K and Family Fun Run will help support Christmas House and several other essential projects and programs within our community. Christmas House is the Chapel Hill Service League’s signature annual community project. For more than 50 years, this event has helped to make the holidays brighter for local, financially challenged families. Parents and guardians of more than 800 children are invited to select new toys, books and coats for their families. The joy this provides the parents is immeasurable and makes gift giving more meaningful.

The Chapel Hill Service League is dedicated to making a difference in our community with an emphasis on the needs of women and children in our area. Our current Community Outreach projects include Dress for Success, Caring House, Ronald McDonald House, SECU Family House, Habitat for Humanity, and A Helping Hand.
